We are new to the neighborhood and love dining at Cultivate. What a fabulous vibe, friendly and exceptional staff, and last but not least excellent food and beer (they also have great cocktail and wine choices). Tonight was burger/beer/bourbon night. My husband loved his burger and salad. I chose the cauliflower soup which was scrumptious and their tuna crudo which was fabulous!! Truly this is a gem in Ravenswood! What a great job Forbidden Root is doing!

Been here a few times. Great daily specials. Bar snacks are top notch and the burger is a hit. Mussels were very overcooked, which was too bad because the broth was great. The staff really doesn’t like you, but they get you what you need, so really what more could you expect?

My husband and I had such a gorgeous lunch at Cultivate by Forbidden Root. The space is airy, handsome and cosy. We loved th big comfy booths and the service was absolutely flawless. My meal was delicious too: I enjoyed the Cauliflower Soup - made with Black Garlic, Chili Crunch and Fried Leeks - and could have eaten gallons of it! The Carrot cake served with coffee ice cream, burnt honey and candied carrots was very good. I also really enjoyed trying a Mini Carlo shot - Bourbon, Benedictine, Orange Bitters. Great value for quality ingredients. Highly recommended.

This was an absolutely great experience. The duck dumplings where out of this world. The server at the bar Antonio made a fantastic mojito(2x)..... also was very attentive, before he served me he tasted it was up to his standard. The chef Isaiah had the duck and dumplings at perfection. This location is the flagship Forbidden. Great, service, drinks, and food. I will be back religiously after that duck and dumplings plate and excellent mojito.

Cultivate is always lovely and usually has a bit of room for a spontaneous visit. They have tons of seating, menu items that change with the seasons, and a huge bar. The staff are calm and check in as well. They also now have weekday and happy hour specials!

It is so great to have a place like Cultivate in the neighborhood! I have come here to dine in many times and also ordered take out plenty. Although they don’t mark allergies on the menu, when asked, ready to accommodate by their friendly and helpful staff. I can always find plenty of dishes for my gluten and soy restrictions. I also appreciate that it never gets so loud that one cannot have a conversation! Menu changes with seasons and I appreciate the creative yet short menu. I only wish they brewed gluten free zero proof beer;)

Fantastic service, food, drinks, a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere to boot. Loved the snapper. The olives appetizer was delicious as was the ricotta garlic appetizer (very garlicky!). My parents had the duck and the spare ribs, both excellent. Hades was a great server.

I haven’t review a restaurant in years. Cultivate was so good that I’m breaking my streak of absence to write this review. Everything we tried was excellent. Both food and beer. Highly recommend.
